It generally woks very well and I’m satisfied with how it performs. Very easy to set up, took less than an hour to install the hardware, load the software and pair the robot/docking station and RTK. Mapping was a bit of trial and error. It took me several attempts to get it right and even now I’ll probably revisit it in time. The reason Ive scored it 4 star out of 5, is that I’ve come across two issues. The first is that it sometimes fails to see obstacles in its path, it has several attempts to go through it , digging its rear wheels in and chewing the turf. The item in question is the vertical pole of the rotary drying line. Secondly, it sometimes fails to following the channel I’ve set for going from one area to another, resulting in the robot cutting corners and crossing gravel rather the following the path. Having said that I would still recommend it at this price point.
This machine is amazing. Worth the money. Cleans the pool really well and as long as the battery doesn’t die it stays at the top side of pool for collection,
Delighted with my pool cleaner especially the way he climbs walls and he’s quickly become part of the family. Only issue is the dog competing for attention. One visitor stood watching for ages “it’s better than telly” he said.
Took a punt on this as I like my mower so much. We were using a cabled robotic pool cleaner with no particular intelligence and as that started playing up we thought we’d try this as it was on offer took awhile to turn up but I guess it’s a early release of a new product line. it came well packed The machine itself seems very well made very robust nicely styled. The instructions are fairly clear. It connected to the app without any problems and already had the latest firmware which is good trying it in the pool. It seems to do a very good job which I guess is the main thing the biggest issue which I haven’t thought about it before and is when it’s underwater it loses connection to the app. so there is no way of recalling it early or knowing where it’s up to or how long it has to go before it finishes. If it’s cleaning the walls for a few seconds, it’s above water it does reconnect then disconnect. At the end of its cycle it’s meant to come to the surface for up to 15 minutes but despite using it lots of times we’ve never actually worked out how long it’s going to be underwater before it finishes and therefore we’ve never actually managed to be there when it’s come up to the surface. The. The whole point for us was we don’t sit there watching it. Ideally, I’d like it to do it thing come to the surface broadcaster notification message to me that it was ready to be collected at the moment we’re having to use our pole to extract itevery time. Which is fine, but basically why I’ve only given it full stars. As stated the cleaning performance seems very good battery life seems average. I kind of thought it might last a few more cleans but it’s relatively easy to charge. The cleaning boxes is easy to empty which is very handy. Not quite sure how you could solve the connectivity problem without having some sort of cable that floated to the surface? Or stated it coming up to the surface every now and again and establishing contact.
Game changer! Absolutely love it!!
Superb machine that so far, is hard to fault. Very easy to set up with clear instructions. Only two negatives so far:
- Auto-mapping kinda sucks
- He struggles to return to his charger - Probably user error but I have to
manually drive him to it
Other than that... Amazing.
I couldn’t get it to map manually but when I put unto automatict away it went.
I have used the product twice since it arrived and my indoor pool is now clear of all debris. On both occasions I used the 'floor' mode as that is all that I was concerned to clean. My pool is rectangular and slopes from 3ft to 9ft with the deepest section being an inset with three sloping sides. On the first occasion, I set the Spino off lengthways and it didn't like the slopes, possibly identifying them as walls. On the second occasion, I set it off widthways and it seemed happier. It may, of course, have learned from its first outing. What I have noticed is that it tends to rear-up on slopes (i.e. the brushes lose contact with the floor) and on a couple of occasions I thought it might even flip over backwards but it didn't. On the 45 degree joints between slopes it tends to drift (i.e. gravity takes over and it loses traction) which seems to result in it losing its bearings. Having said that, it must have randomly cleaned the whole floor as all of the debris has gone. Trying to work out its logic in a pool such as mine with complex slopes is not a spectator sport! I have just left it alone to work things out for itself which is, of course, part of the joy of ownership. I was around when it surfaced on the second occasion on which I used it (its battery having discharged) but wasn't quick enough to recover it. I thought it might float constantly once it had surfaced but it sunk after two attempts. It was no problem to recover it with its hook, easier than standing around waiting for it to surface with only a thirty second window for recovery. I was also impressed that it circulated and put into suspension all spent chemicals/algae which were then filtered through the pools filtration system. Obviously emptying its basket of debris is far easier than dismantling the pools filter system when using a vacuum hose which has been my previous experience. All in all, I am impressed with the job it has done and would recommend it as a product. It has taken roughly the same amount of time to charge as it has to run-down its battery so roughly like for like in my experience to date. It is always galling to spend more time charging than working. Will be intrigued to see whether it ever stops before running down its battery completely because it thinks the job has been done. Maybe not in my pool because of the complex slopes and its propensity to drift and lose its bearings. Vacuuming the pool via its filtration system used to take me a couple of hours and it was not easy controlling the vac head on the end of a sixteen foot pole. When the filter basket filled with debris, the suction was lost, the hose detached from its skimmer and if unnoticed that resulted in a lot of wasted time and effort. All of that is now behind me and I can concentrate on cleaning the pool surround with my iMop. Now there's a thing Mammotion, how about a robot floor cleaner so I can just put my feet up and watch both do all my work for me!
Just opening the box you get the feeling of pure quality. Putting the mower together and the basic instructions are clear and intuitive, although being reasonably tech savvy helps!
I have a nearly 1.5 acres of mowing that I’ve split into 6 smaller areas and is a mixture of lawn and pasture. The Mammotion (named Dave) gets on with the job with very satisfying results, varying cut heights for each area. The rain sensor works brilliantly sending Dave back to base until told to continue when the rain clears.
What you get is very advanced technology driven appliance giving great results for a reasonable price.
Fabulous little house for my Mammotion Luba 2 AWD.
I had researched the set up on youtube to see how easy it was to set up, and when the box arrived it was very straightforward. I couldn't wait to see it in action and within half an hour we were all mesmerized by it. So much so that we got it to save time in the garden... all we do now is stop what we're doing and watch it go up and down. Great value product and no issues 2 weeks in.
Took a while to get set up but have enjoyed working with our friendly robot. Positioning the wall mounted station and channels yet to be mastered. My only regret is I didnt wait two days and buy when saw advertised on facebook with social media discounts worth over £500!!!!T
Purchased this mower after researching various on line reviews and we are delighted with it. Assembly and set up is straight forward and once you have mapped out the task area and channel from the task area to the charging station there are various options to change cutting height, mowing pattern, frequency etc. Cutting quality is excellent and once the task is finished the robot returns to the charging station.
So far so good... this is my second Mammotion mower (both are in operation)... Reliable, well built and great functionality. Mowing in stripes is a game changer.
Well made product. APP not the most intuitive butfigured it out more or less. I’ve had to redo the mapping a couple of times to avoid the mower ending up in the flower beds, but that’s more down to my lack of skill driving it round my garden.
Great bit of kit and a huge timesaver. I look forward to seeing the longevity it can offer.
Arrived quickly, easy to fit and provides protection from above. It does leave the sides exposed and for the price I'd expect a bit more
So so pleased with this machine, slowly taught it the perimeters of my 3 lawns and love the bowling green look now!
